This site is a way for you to get to know me a little - my interests, my background, and my views of the world. Many would say I have a multitude of talents (distractions) and I have been fortunate enough to have experienced many diverse things in my life. My education ranges from academic to extensive travel and living abroad. I guess traveling has been amongst the most enriching of ventures that I have undertaken. Exposure to foreign locales and cultures allows one to broaden their perspective and appreciate different points of view.
So how best would I describe myself? I consider myself an optimist, and I like to look to positive outcomes and positive memories from whatever I may be involved with or engaged in. Some other adjectives might be conscientious, insightful and fun loving. I guess the key to getting the most out of life is by living in the moment as best you can - there are lessons to be learned even in the rough times.
You may think that I am living in some form of denial, given the crazy times we live in, but I wrote one my Masters theses on “If it bleeds, it leads news,” and I know that pessimism is pervasive in our society but I refuse to buy into that mindset. I enjoy a good intellectual discussion, but far too often people confuse negativity for being intellectual. It takes a lot of work to remain positive in a culture full of doom-sayers, but call me naïve, I want to walk on the sunny side of the street.
As for my main preoccupation in life, I have devoted much of the last decade to photography. That has been complemented by web design and graphic arts (my IT guy tells me that I have designed over 40 websites). The links to some of my websites are listed below which should provide a further insight into my talents and interests.
